It’s my MARKet, so I’m gonna share…In shocking news, it was revealed that the wife of Britain’s Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge Katherine, has two breasts.  Also amazingly, they look pretty much like every other pair.  Given the coverage though, you would have thought there was a third nipple or something.  So America went up in arms with our faux-puritan, hypocritical stance over nudity.  Because we Americans love our blood and violence, but show us a little skin and who knows what will happen.  It’s why porn is only a multi-billion dollar business in this country.  It’s not me or you (cause we’re against nudity wink, wink, nudge, nudge), it’s the other guy……Of course the real issue with Kate’s photos was ridiculous invasion of privacy.  However, while we poo-poo those getting our gossip for us, we eat it up with the biggest spoon we can find.  Simple fact – if there was no audience for this, there’d be no sellers…So a movie came out featuring a womanizer running around the middle-east trying to create all sorts of havoc, including the overthrow of the government.  Apparently, not too many people liked the flick because all sorts of chaos ensued.  Despite being more than 20 years old, I am surprised Ishtar has caused such a reaction…I would think these folks would have more important things to protest about other than a movie no one will ever see, like the need for indoor plumbing or paved roads.  But the media continues to put forth the story that this is a protest over a movie and not more anti-western terrorism, because to say so would be insulting the backwards thinking folks in charge.  They don’t believe in two thumbs down, they believe in two decapitated heads down…..Can we now safely stop singing Kumbaya over the “Arab Spring” a couple of years ago that was supposedly all about this great upsurge in democracy coming to the middle-east?  It was a feel-good moment for a minute, but it was a lie that was reported as fact.  Where are the free elections?  Where are the rights for women?  Where are the schools for children?  There was no democracy and there never will be democracy until the folks in charge learn that violence isn’t the answer to anyone who disagrees with your way of thinking.  Democracy should include, at least partially, the thought that even if I disagree with you, you can still think what you like.  To these terrorists, democracy is the thought that even if I disagree with you, I will kill you and burn down the buildings of your government…And we continue to offer financial aid to these countries why?  Oh, that’s right, oil.  Another reason Obama keeps telling us this is a film protest and not terrorism.  Don’t want to insult the folks who kill us yet keep our cars running……Meanwhile, on our side of the world, Mitt Romney keeps trying to inch closer to campaign as the man from Massachusetts he was as opposed to the far right wing conservative his party (and financial) backers want him to be.  And every time he does veer even slightly moderate, reports surface on how his campaign is off track and they need to refocus the messaging.  Maybe the message should be Mitt is personally more moderate than his campaign would like and that Mitt sees the country as a moderate place as well……Of course, maybe Mitt really does think like the forward-thinking conservatives in his party.  Folks like Republican Virginia State Delegate Bob Marshall.  Mr. Marshall spoke at a press conference last month against state funding for Planned Parenthood. He blasted the organization for supporting a women’s right to choose, saying that God punishes women who have had abortions by giving them disabled children.  This is from an elected official representing the party that believes in individual rights.  Unless you’re a woman or heaven forbid, gay.  Then it should be legislated.  Mr. Marshall, meet the Taliban.  I think you two have a lot in common and will get along great……So the other day I completed a project at work and upon handing it in, I did a dance and pretended to rip off my shirt like I was Clark Kent revealing myself to be Superman.  Everyone looked at me like I was nuts.  After all, why should I look for adulation because I did my job?  I get paid, that should be enough.  Yet if I was an NFL quarterback, or lineman or just about any other position on a football team, this is accepted.  I get it - You make a big play, you’re excited, you exalt.  When it is pre-planned and choreographed, these players insult their teammates by saying to the world “look what I did and forget the other 10 guys who helped” as well as show off incredibly poor sportsmanship.  At the very least, have some situational awareness.  While the showboating is bad enough, to preen and pose when you are losing is just ridiculous.  Did you preen when you got sacked, missed a tackle or fumbled, you know, the things that are causing you to lose?  If you make a big play and your team is still on the smaller end of the scoreboard, just get back to work.  It is what you are paid for after all……Kudos to NBC and the Today Show for reminding the world that while honoring a national tragedy only happens once a year, making sure to promote the Kardashian family and the nothingness they offer society goes on forever.  Skipping coverage of one of the four moments of silence that occur on 9/11 to interview Kris Kardashian showed America exactly what the priorities of NBC are.  Can’t insult or bump Mama Kardashian because NBC might want to do business with her or her daughters at some point.  So insult America instead, we’re more forgiving……Paris Hilton, riding in a taxi for what I am sure was the first time in her life, was recorded on tape making negative comments about homosexuals.  While most in the media focused their attention on Paris’ comments, I only what to know what she was doing in a taxi?  I guess being an empty-headed heiress doesn’t pay as well as it used to………Have you made your fall TV plans yet?  If not, I recommend highly Last Resort, which is new on ABC this season.  If you have taken my viewing suggestions previously, you were rewarded with the most shocking and heart wrenching hour of TV recently, courtesy of Sons of Anarchy.  Sadly though, long-time favorite The Office is just horrible now.  They slogged through the loss of Steve Carell but are now badly limping to the finish line of their final season.  This once great show deserves better…… The new Party City catalog featuring halloween costumes is now out.  Apparently the popular choice for girls this year is slut......OK, I've shared.  Now it's your turn.  Agree?  Disagree?  Share the joy with your friends.  Share the outrage with your family.  Have at it.  See you next month.
