It’s my MARKet, so I’m gonna Share…Osama bin Laden was living a life surrounded by unhappy wives and children, no access to cable TV, no internet access, watching porn and sitting around in his underwear in the mountains of Pakistan. I have to think we almost did him a favor by killing him…With all the talk of cooperation in Washington, President Obama missed a great opportunity to put his words into action.  How hard would it have been when announcing the death of bin Laden to throw a bone to George Bush and say that the Navy SEALs finished the job Bush started and that he (President Obama) was lucky enough to be the guy in charge when all the pieces came together?  Obama didn’t do this alone, Bush wouldn’t have done it alone had he been in charge and the military didn’t do it alone.  It was a beautiful operation fueled by intelligence, hard work, superior technology and most of all timing and luck…So Tennessee decided to ban the use of the word “gay.”  Weird, I thought they were still part of the United States where freedom of speech is protected by the Constitution.  Given that just last month half of the state was under water and that they currently rank 44^th out of all the states in the country in high school graduation rate, you would think they would have bigger issues to focus on.  Newsflash to Tennessee, banning the word doesn’t make “gay” go away, it just makes the lives of those who are gay more susceptible to abuse, bullying and more miserable in general.  Maybe you should change your state motto from “Agriculture and Commerce” to Agriculture, Commerce and Bigotry……After a month away, celebrity trainwrecks came back roaring this month.  Arnold Schwarzenegger was found out as having fathered a child with a woman who worked in the home he shared with his wife and family. This is a man whose entire popularity was built on the lie of steroids.  Without them, he was just another immigrant in this country.  With them, he amassed fame and fortune first as a body-builder, an “actor” and a politician.  Not exactly career choices for those on the up-and-up.  While I feel bad for his wife Maria and their kids, she also went into this with her eyes wide open as reports about Arnold’s inappropriate behavior with women on movie and TV shoots were everywhere.  It’s great she stood by him when it was convenient for her, but I will not accept her naivety and shock now that this has come to light and he is out of office……Convicted felon Lindsay Lohan has shown that it is impossible for her to have photos taken without her boobs making an appearance, and no, I am not referring to her fame-hungry mom and dad…The cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore are having an interesting time in Italy according to reports.  They are banned from popular attractions and other places by the government, jeered at by locals whenever they are out in public and made fun of in the daily papers regularly.  The cast responds with public screaming matches between on-again/off-again cast members Ronni and Sammy, a reported fist fight between a couple of them and acting in the most boorish and tacky way possible.  The joke is on Italy though.  Most of the cast isn’t even Italian……I am loving the current, and sadly last, season of Friday Night Lights.  The great writing and superb cast bring it every week.  Enjoying it even more because once the season is over, given the state of the NFL lockout, that might be it for football on TV for quite a while……The New York Mets have a new minority owner to help out the Wilpon family.  The Wilpon’s, who are now involved in their second Ponzi scheme as “victims”, at first weren’t concerned with the Madoff mess and then changed their story to deeply concerned and needing an investor.  While this was going on, Fred Wilpon decided to go public with a trashing of the team in a magazine article, yet wonders where the fans are.  Memo to Fred:  You were right, the team stinks.  We know it too.  But I would still go to games if it wasn’t for the ridiculous amounts of money you charge for tickets, parking, hot dogs and beer to watch your sub-par club.  Step into economic realty sometime and maybe fans will return to enjoy a day at the park watching your club lose……I can’t help thinking that Tiger Woods had none of the problems he has now with his golf game and his knee before the revelations about his sexual activities while married became public.  Maybe all the free time he now has to practice is the problem.  Seems he did great when he was otherwise occupied…Oprah retired her talk show and is no longer working.  Now she is more like the millions of women who watched her everyday than ever before……As it is near Memorial Day, I started with a comment on the military and I will end with one.  In between the time you spend with friends and family this long weekend, spare a thought for those away from home fighting to protect our country and the freedoms we enjoy.  More importantly, think of those who fought that never came home, giving all for the country they, and we love.  If you want to do something nice, I always recommend the Wounded Warrior Project, helping those in the military who come home needing help.
