It’s my MARKet, so I’m gonna Share…Last time I checked, the US had a pretty good relationship with Italy. It will be a shame to see that go down the tubes when we export the cast of Jersey Shore there for a season of filming. Americans already have a terrible reputation in Europe, so we need to send the worst examples of boorish behavior that we have? Yeah, that’ll help. Maybe someone can check to see if the Taliban will take them instead……With two weeks between playoffs and the Super Bowl, they say the first week is most important for team preparations as the second week is filled with media commitments. With that in mind, I too have started preparing and already began drinking…Regarding the Super Bowl, I love the idea of two classic NFL teams going head to head for it all. A lot of history to feast on for the big game. My prediction? Steelers – 35, Packers – 27. You heard it here first……Thank you Charlie Sheen. Almost had to post this column without my Celebrity Train Wreck of the Month, but you came through. After living like Caligula during a weekend in Vegas, you then hosted a houseful of strippers to critique porn as you took delivery of a briefcase full of cocaine. A satchel I could understand, a bike messenger bag perhaps, but a briefcase? Glad to see that rehab is now on the top of your to-do list…As a resident of the north-east, allow me to go on record as saying snow sucks. Yes, in moderation it is fine, pretty and fun. However, when you are getting pummeled weekly by storms dumping 5+ inches every few days, the limit has been reached. I am officially ready for spring…With all the agita that it caused and how unhappy Derek Jeter was with how his contract negotiations went public, you would think Brian Cashman, the GM of the NY Yankees, would think first before floating the trial balloon of moving Jeter to the outfield. Clearly somebody has an agenda at work here, and you can bet your hot dogs there will be tension in spring training and beyond for the Bronx Bombers. Jeter and this story will not go away quietly……Considering how much talent there was in the cast of The Other Guys – Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Michael Keaton and others - That movie should have been much better……Kudos to MTV for sticking by Skins, a show that portrays what teenagers are going through in real life regarding sexuality, drugs, peer pressure and general angst. Maybe it’s time the Parent’s Television Council, who want the power to decide what is appropriate for all of us to watch, got their heads out of their butts and realize they can’t censor America and that teens do more than wait for mom’s apple pie to cool off and trade baseball cards……So Ricky Gervais made fun of a bunch of coddled and overpaid celebrities at the Golden Globes. I’m still not seeing the problem, despite the heat he took over it. I think these people need to take themselves down a notch on the ol’ serious scale………While I know who I want to see win the Super Bowl, I’ll think I will be rooting hardest for a Fergie wardrobe malfunction at halftime……Sad that Jack LaLanne died at age 96. I guess a life of healthy eating and exercise isn’t all its cracked up to be………I would spend some time complaining about the economy, but I don’t want to lose my place in the line for food stamps………Looking for a charity you can support? The Wounded Warriors Project (www.woundedwarrior.org). These folks help our soldiers when they return home needing assistance, medical and otherwise. Regardless of your position of our military actions, these men and women deserve our respect and support…I absolutely love that True Grit got so many Oscar nominations. The western is not a dead genre by any means……American Idol is back and I think I actually miss Paula Abdul. At least she could say “no” to a contestant without all the waffling that J. Lo seems to go through. Based on what they are showing us, I think the judges are being way more lenient than in the past in letting folks go through. Gonna be a lot of broken hearts when reality hits come Hollywood week……Happy Super Bowl to everyone……OK, I’ve shared. Now it’s your turn. Agree? Disagree? Have at it. See you next month.
